The Youth Association for Social Awareness (YASA), registered in Lebanon in 1996, is an active organization specialized in injury prevention and safety promotion.
To reduce the Road Traffic Injuries problem in Lebanon YASA joined efforts with the Ministry of Interior and Municipality and the Parliamentarian Committee for Public Works and Transport, for the institution of a new driver examination that is free of bribe and in accordance with the international norms.
The major objective of this proposed initiative is to enact a decision from the Ministry of Interior that will reform the content of the theoretical driver examination based on the questions and answers Book that will be prepared by YASA in close collaboration with the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities. This will eventually assist in having more qualified drivers and hence safer driving on the Lebanese roads.
In brief, the proposed program will serve as a major component in the reform of the whole process of driver examinations in Lebanon.
Arabia Insurance was pleased to support Yasa’s initiative to the Reform of Driver Licenses in Lebanon by sponsoring this project with the collaboration of The Ministry of Interior & Municipalities and the support of AMIDEAST – US Aid.
